Certified Wireless Network Professional Program (CWNP™)
The Certified Wireless Network Professional Program (CWNP™) program is the first vendor-neutral program available to teach today's network engineers a standard body of knowledge for wireless LANs. CWNP Wireless LAN Training and Certification adds the essential wireless knowledge and skills sets to IT and network professionals with existing networking skills.

The CWNP program imparts credibility, confidence, and recognition, while measuring the knowledge of IT professionals. Achieving CWNP status - at any level - shows that you are a technical leader with the ability to successfully implement and manage wireless network solutions for your organization or your clients.

Certifications
The CWNP program consists of four different certifications:

CWNA, CWSP, CWNI and CWNE - the CWNP certification program
  1. Administrator (CWNA) - For the wireless LAN administrator or for those making inroads into the wireless networking industry.
  2. Security Professional (CWSP) - If one of your staff uses Wireless network equipment, your enterprise data network is probably insecure. CWSP accreditation is for professionals who will apply advanced processes and techniques to maintain the security of enterprise data networks.
  3. Integrator (CWNI) - For the experienced network engineer who works with both wireless and wired networks.
  4. Expert (CWNE) - For the wireless networking specialist who is called upon to design, recommend, install, upgrade, and troubleshoot the most complex wireless networking technologies.

Training professionals can also attain Certified Wireless Network Trainer (CWNT) status for each of the certifications.

Benefits
When you achieve any of the CWNP certifications, you set yourself apart from other network engineers by becoming skilled in one of the fastest growing technologies in the IT industry. You will be qualified to administer, integrate, and troubleshoot different manufacturers' wireless LAN equipment.

As a Certified Wireless Network Professional, you also receive the following benefits:

  • Industry recognition of your knowledge and proficiency with Wireless Networking products and technologies.
  • Logos and certificate to enable you to identify your Certified Wireless status to colleagues or clients.

Who should get certified?
If you already have an industry or vendor-sponsored networking certification, you should pursue your CWNP certification to complement your skill set and your career. You have already proven your knowledge of computer networking, and now you can prove your expertise in wireless networking. The CWNP program measures and quantifies your working knowledge of how to connect computers and systems without wires.

Network engineers and administrators who currently hold industry-recognised certifications from Cisco, Novell, Microsoft and others will benefit from CWNP by expanding their expertise into wireless.

If you do not hold any industry certifications, then CWNP is the perfect place to start!
